Adopt-A-Squad

Supporting our deployed Marines in harms way

MCL Det # 885 has adopted the Marines of  4th MTM (Motor Transport Maintenance) Co. 4th FSSG of the Sacramento, Ca. Reserve Center when they deploy.

We send care packages every month to those deployed Marines serving in harm's way.

Why "Adopt-A-Squad"? Because what the Marines are doing is important work. If we can make their deployment just a little bit easier by sending a care package then we've accomplished our mission.

Someone once said that "adoption is when a child grows in your heart instead of a Mother's body." "Adoption is not an accident, you are chosen."

Well, we have chosen these Marines and they grow in our hearts as they serve our country in distant lands preserving the liberty that we all enjoy.

Sending care packages every month is not cheap though. It costs about $30 per box, per month. Because we're not allowed to disclose the number of boxes we send, suffice it to say that it is considerable at times as our country fights the War on Terror.
